Re: Electronic Device Policy
Dear Skyview Parents/Guardians and Students,
As we approach the start of the 2009-2010 school year we would like to communicate a
change which will impact our climate in a very positive way. Starting this year we will
institute a No Electronic Device Policy during school hours. (7:40 a.m.-2:27 p.m.)
Students are advised not to bring electronic devices to school and we accept no liability
for the loss or damage of such items on school grounds. We believe the educational
environment and the safety of students and teachers will improve as a result of this new
policy. The following is a guideline for the new protocol regarding disciplinary action for
student violation(s) of the policy:
1st incident- Item secured with campus security team and returned to student after
school.
2nd incident- Item secured with campus security team; parent/guardian contact. Student
is assigned one hour of after school detention.
3rd incident- Item secured with campus security team; parent/guardian contact. Student
is assigned two days of after school detention.
4th incident- Item secured with campus security. Student is suspended for one day out
of school. Parent/Guardian conference arranged with administration.
5th incident- Item secured with campus security. Student is suspended for three days
out of school. Parent/Guardian conference arranged with administration.
If you have questions concerning the new policy please contact our office at 498-0561.
Sincerely,
