Pete Koehler

Pete Koehler is the Chief Educational Officer for Nampa High School and the Nampa Cluster of Schools (Nampa High, West Middle School, Lone Star Middle School, Centennial Elementary, Central Elementary, Franklin Roosevelt Elementary, Willow Creek Elementary, and Parkview Pre-School). 2009 - 2010 will be Mr. Koehler’s fourth year leading Nampa High and the cluster of middle and elementary schools that send students to this great high school.
 
Previously, Mr. Koehler was the principal of Central Elementary and has taught fifth and sixth grade. He entered the teaching profession through the Troops to Teachers program after retiring from the U.S. Army in 1996. The mission of Nampa High School is for all students to graduate as a thinking, caring human being who is a positive and productive member of our society.
 
Lead Building Administrator
Holtry, Byron
Byron Holtry graduated from Nampa High in 1971, served in the United States Navy for five years, and is a Vietnam veteran.  He graduated from the University of Idaho in 1980 with a Bachelors degree in Science and Agri/Business, received a Bachelors degree in Education from Northwest Nazarene University (NNU) in 1989, and a Masters degree in Administration and Principalship in 1997 from NNU. 
 
Mr. Holtry was a teacher in the Vallivue School District for ten years.  During that time, he owned and operated two businesses, Roller Magic and Water Magic.  He taught 2nd grade at the elementary level and science at the middle school and high school levels.  He received the secondary Teacher of the Year award for Vallivue School District while teaching physical and life sciences in 1997 and was an administrator in Vallivue for two years.  Since he came to the Nampa School District in 1998, he has worked as the assistant principal for South Middle School for two years and is currently the Lead Building Administrator for Nampa High School since 2000.
 
Mr. Holtry married his high school sweetheart, Kristine Goering,  in 1975.  They have three sons, Daniel, Matthew, and Alexander, all who live in the Nampa area.  Mr. Holtry is the president of the Southern Idaho Conference of Principals (SIC) and serves on the board of the Nampa Church of the Brethren.  He is also active on the Board for PAL (Police Activities League) and has served for over thirty years on the board of his church’s intergenerational summer camp in Meadows, Idaho.  Mr. Holtry is known for his positive attitude and building relationships with students.
 
Alan Duby
Building Administrator, Special Education

This is Mr. Allen (Skeeter) Duby’s 8th year working at Nampa High School.  Skeeter taught three years in the Mathematics Department followed by serving as the Dean of Students for one year prior to entering Administration.  Mr. Duby oversees teacher and student scheduling, Special Education and Assessment for Nampa High School.  Prior to working at Nampa High School Skeeter taught Math at West Middle School.  His educational career began in Jordan Valley, Oregon where he taught Math and Physical Educational.  While in Jordan Valley Skeeter was the head football and boy’s basketball coach, winning a state championship in basketball during the 2000-2001 season.

 
Cortney Stauffer

Mr. Stauffer has worked at Nampa High School for the past ten years.  His first nine years of teaching were in the Bilingual/ESL Department where he taught multiple core subjects bilingually.  He has also served as the Bilingual Coordinator for seven years. This past year he was Dean of Students.  Mr. Stauffer’s responsibilities are to oversee the Special Education and ESL programs at Nampa High School.

Knopp, Scott

 

Mr. Knopp came to Nampa High School in January of 1996.  In his time at NHS he has worked in many different roles.  In the early years those roles included security, ISS Instructor, Alternative Program Instructor and Emotionally Disturbed Program Instructor.  The past eight years Mr. Knopp has primarily been an instructor in Physical Education, Health and Psychology.  His entire time at Nampa High has been spent as a baseball coach, being the Head Coach since the 1998 season.   Mr. Knopp also spent ten years as an assistant football coach at Nampa High
 
John Gregory

This marks the 22nd year at Nampa High School for John Gregory.  The first 16 years were as Head Girl’s Basketball coach, seven as Head Softball coach and one as Head Volleyball coach.  He is beginning his sixth year as Athletic Director.  Mr. Gregory serves as Chairman of the SIC 4A/5A Athletic Directors, sits on the board of the Idaho Athletic Administrators Association as Certification Chairman, and serves on the Credentials Committee for the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association.  Mr. Gregory attained the (CAA) Certified Athletic Administrator by completing the required couses and passing the national test in 2006.
