Since the program’s inception in 1986, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation has awarded more than 4,000 exceptional high school students $35 million in scholarships to attend college.
Scholars are selected based upon academic achievement, their capacity to lead, and their hours of dedicated community service. Becoming a Coca-Cola Scholar means a lifetime commitment to service; giving back to one’s community. Generations of Scholars are now leaders in government, law, education, financial services and health care, creating visionary changes around the United States and the world.
High school seniors are eligible to apply for $3 million in college scholarship: 250 awards are presented annually with 50 scholarships for $20,000 and 200 scholarships for $10,000. These achievement-based awards, created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Coca-Cola, are sponsored by the Coca-Cola Company and Coca-Cola Bottlers across the country that are recognized for their long-lasting commitment to the education of tomorrow’s leaders.
DEADLINE: October 31 of one’s senior year in high school.

The Canyon County Juvenile Probation Department Proudly Announces the Presentation of the Parent Project Program
The Parent Project® is a parent education curriculum designed for parents of “out of control,” or “strong-willed children.” The Parent Project® was specifically designed to help parents intervene in destructive adolescent behavior. The curriculum focuses on improving school attendance and performance, drug use intervention, gang intervention strategies and reducing family conflict.

Over 47,000 students ahve competed for this presitgious award since its establisment in 1989. Sullivan Leaders are selected on the basis of demonstrated service, leadership and academic achievement to receive full tuition, room and meals for each of four years of undergraduate study at Seattle University. Nine Sullivan Leadership Awards are given each year; 36 finalists receive other Seattle University scholarships ranging from $11,000 to $18,500 per year. Sullivan Leaders come from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, small towns and large cities, public and independent school, and from different religious traditions.
The Sullivan Leadership Award Application, along with a complete admissions application, must be completed and postmarked on or before November 15, 2008. Candidates for the arard are required to attend the Sullivan Leadership Day competition on Saturday, January 10, 2009, on the Seattle University campus. Forty-five finalists will be invited back for the final competition on Friday, February 27, 2009. Winners will be announced in March.

Eligible seniors must have a GPA in the top 25th percentile of their graduating class, must plan on continuing their education beyond high school in an accredited training, licensing or certification program, or institution of higher education. Eligibility for this scholarship requires you must be a senior or will be a senior in the fall. You must have a grade point avereage of 2.5 or greater. You plan to attend college after graduation. All you need to do is write an essay (600-1000 words) about a personal encounter you or someone you know has had with drugand/or alchohol abuse, how it was dealt with, and in your opinion what was right or wrong about the way the incident or problem was handled. This is a $500 scholarship. Please see your Counselor for more information. There is no deadline for applications. | |

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
D. L. Evans Bank is pleased to award eight (8) $250.00 scholarships to each of the following Universities for the fall semester to Mini-Cassia, Magic Valley, Treasure Valley, Wood River Valley, and Eastern Idaho graduating seniors attending College of Southern Idaho, Idaho State University, College of Idaho, University of Idaho and Boise State University.
CRITERIA: • Student must be graduating from a Mini-Cassia, Magic Valley, Treasure Valley, Wood River Valley, Pocatello, Idaho Falls and surrounding area schools. • The student must be a full time student and attend the Fall Semester. • Preference will be given to students majoring in finance, business, or economics; however, all other majors will be considered. • The student must demonstrate academic progress with a minimum 2.0 GPA* from high school studies completed at the time of application.
TO APPLY: Complete the application; attach a high school transcript, and a statement expressing why you should be considered as a candidate for the D. L. Evans Bank Scholarship.

The Award The Scholarship offered by the KFC Colonel's Scholars Program provides funding for:
Awards can be up to $5,000 per year. The scholar could receive up to $20,000 over four years to help complete a bachelor's degree.
Eligibility To be eligible to compete for the KFC Colonel's Scholars Scholarship, an individual must:
Scholars may begin their college career by entering into either a 2-or 4-year accredited in-state college/university, as long as they stay on track to complete a bachelor's degree program.
Selection Process Completing the online application is the first step. NOTE: The 2009 application process opens on December 1, 2008. Visit www.kfcscholars.org to apply. After February 10, 2009, all submitted applications will be reviewed and semifinalists selected. Semifinalists will be asked to provide additional documentation in March 2009. After the semifinalist information is received, an independent selection committee will meet to select the KFC Colonel's Scholars.
