Our Story

Franklin D. Roosevelt Elementary School was one of three elementary schools that opened in 2002 to accommodate growth in Nampa. Our school started off in farmland off Roosevelt Road in Nampa. In a few short years, residential developments put our school over capacity, which was relieved when Willow Creek Elementary School opened in 2005.

We exemplify our district’s commitment to building neighborhoods, when possible, to allow students to walk or bike to school.

Our school is the second in the district to named after the former president. In 1937, the district built Roosevelt Elementary School on 12^th Avenue Road. President Roosevelt drove by the original Roosevelt Elementary School on a visit to our state.

Roosevelt is a welcoming, caring place where students in grades pre-K-5 master the essential skills in preparation for a lifetime of learning. Our students also learn the building blocks of science, social studies, citizenship, and health complimented by art, music, and physical education in a comprehensive curriculum.
