Our Story
Our school
opened in the 1975-76 school year to replace the aging Kenwood Elementary School.
We were named “Centennial”, because the United States celebrated its
bicentennial on July 4, 1976.
Our school is one of two in the
district built with an open classroom design, meaning the classrooms don’t have
doors and some can be opened up for team teaching. In 2001, patrons approved a bond which
allowed for the construction of a new gym at our school.
Centennial
boasts two large playgrounds one at the front of the school and one behind.
We serve
students in south central Nampa, a well established neighborhood that is seeing
new residential and retail development.
Centennial is a
welcoming, caring place where students in grades K-5 master the essential
skills in preparation for a lifetime of learning. Our students also learn the
building blocks of science, social studies, citizenship, and health
complimented by art, music, and physical education in a comprehensive
curriculum.
Our dedicated
and experienced teachers provide students individual attention designed to meet
their needs.
