 Standards

A standards-based approach to education begins with the premise that all students can learn and achieve at high levels - but that does not imply that all students will learn in the same way or at the same pace.

The Nampa School District's Standards (Written Curriculum) were developed using state and national standards. Through the achievement of these standards, goals and objectives, students will gain proficiency in skills that are basic to all learning, critical to success in the workplace and essential to life as productive citizens.

Standards are general categories that organize knowledge within a subject area. Standards by themselves often lack substance due to their broad language.

Goals and objectives focus our attention on specific skills students should know, understand, and be able to do as a result of their education. Standards, goals and objectives describe essential skills for student achievement.

Support Curriculum encompasses programs, texts and resources adopted by the district to meet those standards.
