More than half our students live in poverty. Nearly 30 percent of our students are Hispanic; of those more than 1,500 are classified as Limited English Proficient meaning they are not fluent in reading or speaking English.

We also serve children with special needs from the Idaho State School and Hospital, the Northwest Children’s Home, Syringa House and Discovery House. In addition to those students with disabilities who attend our schools.

Because of our diversity and desire for all students to succeed, we pay close attention to academic achievement of specific groups of students. We have been encouraged by the progress different groups have made during the past four years and our goal is to see that progress continue as schools adjust to a new state test.
