Education: Our community provides public, private choices
Our
education system provides a diverse mix of public and private opportunities for
K-12 and higher education. Most parents choose the comprehensive K-12 program
offered by the Nampa
School District. Our
community also is home to three independent charter schools, including the Idaho Arts Charter School, which is
sponsored by our district, and two private schools.
In the
area of higher education, Nampa
is home to the noted private university Northwest
Nazarene University. Also nearby is Albertson
College of Idaho, a private liberal arts college in Caldwell. Currently, the city is home to a
branch campus of Boise State University,
however, that may change as residents approved a new community college
district. The College
of Western Idaho is under
development and should be opened by 2008.
