Our
Elementary Schools: Welcome to the neighborhood
Visit any of our neighborhood elementary schools and you
will be greeted by colorful student artwork, messages about the importance of
character, friendly staff eager to help children, and teachers and
administrators focused on academic success.
We’ve created our elementary
schools as welcoming, caring places where students in grades K-5 master the
essential skills in preparation for a lifetime of learning.
Using research and the
experience of our teachers, we’ve selected the best reading and math curriculum
to support the needs of our diverse learners.
The elementary
experience in
Parents want their
young children close to home, so we strive to build neighborhood schools with
large playgrounds, to allow girls and boys to safely walk or bike to school and
play with their friends.
Our commitment to
neighborhood schools is challenging in one of the state’s fastest growing
communities. To keep up, we’ve built four new elementary schools in the past
nine years, with another two schools scheduled to open in the next two years.
While we value
neighborhood schools, we also know that for some children the best choice may
not their nearby school. Our open enrollment
policy allows us to work with many families to meet their needs.
