Your teacher Patricia Geier
I am an experienced Special Education teacher. I earned a degree in Elementary Education at Boise State University. I wanted to teach Special Education so I earned my credentials in Special Education before I graduated. This allowed me to go to work in Special Education immediately.
I originally worked for the state with severely handicapped students. This experience provided me with a huge amount of experience in supervision of personnel, staff development, Case Management, modifying curriculm and developing adaptions to help my students learn.
I began working in the school system in 1998 for a district called COSSA. This district provided special services for 4 school districts. I had students from all four districts. During my 7 years at COSSA I taught a self contained handicapped program for 2 years and an elementary program for emotionally disturbed students for 5 years.
I worked for the State 15years, COSSA 7 years, 1 year in Caldwell and I am beginning my 4th year at Nampa.
My entire work experience has been in the field of Special Education in various different capacities.
I currently work at Skyview High School. I am designated as the Affective teacher, but have recently been assigned to teach 3 classes of resource Math and 1 class of Developmental therapy in a structured classroom setting and the remaining classes of Affective skills. I am quite diversifided in my teaching at the moment.
