I am a proud graduate of Nampa Senior High, class of 1964. My studies then took me to the University of Idaho (Idaho’s University), where I majored in mathematics with a minor in science. After I received my bachelor’s degree in 1968 the U.S. government wanted some of my time. Following four years in the Air force, I started graduate school in 1972 at the University of Colorado. It soon became clear that I was not going to be a research mathematician, so I completed my graduate work in 1975 with a master’s degree in mathematics and teacher certification. After a year in a junior high in Denver, I was given the opportunity to return to Nampa. I’ve taught math at Nampa High since 1976 and physics was added to my teaching schedule in 1979. Some day soon the lure of fishing, the challenge of cross country skiing, and sharing adventures with my wife will lead me away from the classroom.
